Since the initial thoughts of the establishment and the April 2006 foundation date, we are committed to work for our region. With all our activities, projects and services we intend to facilitate the national objectives on our regional level – job creation and improvement of the living standard.

We wish to realize our objectives in a business-like, efficient and customer-oriented way, but empathically, at the same time. Our approach is established on the concept that the community of the individuals is more than the sum of the individuals. Both the results of our operation and the feedback of our customers provide evidence in our five years of operation for the validity of this philosophy.

The civil character of PBN is rooted in its membership and the way of its work. The economic benefit of our operation serves the funding objectives of our association. Our aspiration for business result-orientation creates the fundaments of our operation.

Currently there are 207 villages, 8 cities, and a self-government operates in the County. There are 268 thousand inhabitants and its domain is about 3.337 square-miles, which equals to the 3.6 % of the whole country.

Big part of the land is suitable for agricultural cultivation. Thirteen percent of it’s area has been seeded as conservation area. The county is overflowed by thermal and fresh waters. On nine districts, there are eighteen thermal spring water based facilities. Some of these thermal springs became European famous by it’s waters quality and curing ability (Sárvár and Bük).

The most used foreign language in the county of Vas is the German, but lately English has been spreading too. The inhabitants are highly qualified and the employment is on high level. In 2008, the college which has been operating in the past thirty years, has qualified for university level, through it’s wide spread activities.

Foreign resources had a great magnitude in the finance. During the privatization, well financed businesses has invested (such as Opel, BPW, Kromberg & Schubert, Packard Electric). These businesses at our market has ensured work opportunities, and it raised our economics. The industry of the county has been dominated by the processing industry, mainly machine industry, which gives half of the gross output. The food mart lays on the stock of the local agricultural production, at the same time the textile, clothing, and leather manufacturing industries are notable too. The specialty of our county’s tourism are it’s natural, cultural and relic related spectacles.

Title The City

Szombathely lies by the streams Perint and Gyöngyös (literally 'pearly'), at 47°14′N 16°38′E, where the Alpokalja (Lower Alps) mountains meet the Little Hungarian Plain.

The current population is around 75.000.

Szombathely is a Hungarian town located within the region of Western Transdanubia, towards the north western area of the country and close to the border with Austria. This city is the administrative centre of the County of Vas and counts with several appealing attractions tourists should not miss while choosing this region for a vacation in Hungary.

The city of Szombathely is famous by being the most antique city in Hungary. This city was officially recognized as such and founded in the year 45 BC, and called Colonia Claudia Savariensum. Soon after it was founded, this city also became the capital of the Province of Pannoia Superior which was part of the Roman Empire and became a popular spot as well as a very relevant commercial centre.

A lot of touristic places and events are located in the town, which helps it to play an important role in the regional tourism. The current stand of the economy is a bit over of the Hungarian average, but unfortunately the city is not growing at the moment, because of the general economical situation. Though the difficulties the unemployment rate is around 5 percent, and the most of the unemployed people are without jobs for more than one year.

With it’s reach cultural, touristic, shopping and economic possibilities, Szombathely is a good place to visit.
