The 4th meeting of the Greek Regional Implementation Group of the European project InCompass was held on Wednesday 18th of December 2013 at the Chamber of Aitoloakarnania, Agrinio. The main target of this meeting was to inform the participants about the activities, progress and the most important findings and best practices of the InCompass project, but also to exchange views and opinions for increasing the entrepreneurship at the Region of Western Greece through further reinforcement of research and innovation.
Image - Picture At the meeting, which was organized by the Region of Western Greece and the University of Patras, participated Mr. Vasileios Antonopoulos (Vice-regional governon of Aitoloakarnania), Mr. Konstantinos Bokas (1st Vice President of the Chamber of Aitoloakarnania) and Mr. Dimosthenis Giagkas (Agrinio Municipality), as well as representatives from the company "Hellenic consulting" and the Chamber of Aitoloakarnania.
Image - Picture At the beginning, Mr. Vasileios Antonopoulos and Mr. Konstantinos Bokas welcomed the meeting and stressed the importance of reinforcing business innovation in the wider region of Western Greece.

Mr. Spyros Papaspyrou, member of the project group of WGR presented the project to the participants and stressed the fact that the targets of the InCompass project are in line with the general targets of the Western Greece Region. He presented the current situation in the Region and explained how the InCompass project may contribute towards the increment of the entrepreneurship at the Region.

The presentation titled "Conclusions from the Project’s Study Visits" followed, by Kostas Tsekouras, Professor at the University of Patras and member of the InCompass team. During this presentation, good practices that were identified at the Study Visits of InCompass Project (in Rotterdam, Milan, Malmoe, Beja, Aviles) were presented and the way that these best practices can be applied in Western Greece Region was discussed.

The cycle of presentations was completed with the presentation of Mr. Dimosthenis Giagkas (Agrinio Municipality), who spoke about the Urban N.O.S.E. project (URBACT ?? progamme), a European project that was funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Mr. Giagkas also talked about the vision of the Municipality of Agrinio to create a Social Business Incubator / Science Park (Social & Innovative Enterprises) in the municipality.

An open discussion was held at the end of the meeting where all participants had the chance to express their thoughts and views.
