Working table between institutions and incubators of Milan and Lombardy “Findings of InCompass Study Visits and Internationalisation Opportunities for business support activity of Creative incubators”.

On December 3 has been held the third meeting of MI.LO. the Milan working table between incubators and institutions (Milan Regional Implementation Group).

At the beginning of the meeting dr. Coletti, the coordinator of the table on behalf of the Province of Milan, has presented the first results reached during the previous meetings, which can be summarized in a presence of a local system of incubation relatively recent but active.

The meeting, organized in the Digital Magics premises, has been characterized by the presence of prof. Arie Romein, from Delft University of Technology – one of the InCompass Project partners and scientific director of the project.

Prof. Romein has presented the best practices emerged from the study visits orginezed in the framework of InCompass project, including some of Lombardy experiences visited during the study visit organized in Milan last year. At the end he has concluded with an illustration of the first draft recommendations for policy makers.

The last point was an important input fora n interesting discussion among the participants about the local policies, about their impact and their strategies that should be pursued to strengthen the incubation system of Milan and Lombardy.

The presence of prof. Romein has represented an important opportunity also to stimulate a discussion about the role of internationalization as one of the activities direct to support start-ups and opportunities for international collaboration.

Interesting input were proposed by the representatives of some incubators setting at the working table (Polihub, Make A Cube and Digital Magics), and Milan Chamber of Commerce and Lombardy Region have summarized the main actions undertaken during the last months regarding CCIs and Incubators.

The final part of the meeting was addressed to discuss the access to finance issue, which for its importance will be taken up in a specific MiLo event that will take place in the first quarter of 2014.
