11 October 13 | Avilés-Asturias, Spain.

Members of Regional Implementation Group of Avilés (RIG) met on 11st October 2013 within InCompass project at the Cultural Factory, in the city of Avilés. This third encounter of RIG members encompassed relevant members and representatives from the triple helix regarding creative sector in the region, including higher educational institutions, public authorities, individual entrepreneurs and associations, business centers and incubators.

In this occasion, the Study Visit report from Malmö was presented and good practices detected were analyzed. Again, key topics related to the creative industries and regional development were discussed, including: the crucial role of the educational institutions in the development of entrepreneurial skills; the importance of focusing on the right selection of international markets and the analysis of consumer behavior and needs; and the creation of good environments for business and  synergies support.

During the meeting, the programme of activities and participation of RIG members in the InCompass Project’s Interim Conference and Study Visit, hosted by Avilés Municipality on 19th, 20th and 21st November of 2013, were actively discussed. Moreover, some RIG members will host study visits (Valnalón Technological City and LABoral Centre of Art) and participate as speakers in the Conference (BIC Asturias).
